There has been some resistance to bracelet models for a few reasons....

Back in 2001-2002 the bracelets used to "Pop" open as they did not have the push button openers. The 40mm worked fine as they are a single clasp but the double Butterfly was a nightmare.

Then, Panerai fixed the problem and had just a few bracelet models as some people could convert from let's say, Rolex, to a larger sized watch without having to give up their bracelets....and People who had already found the Panerai "Underground" could add a bracelet for diversity.

Now, enter the new Contemporary market where Panerai can take an Existing model like the Pam 88...put a bracelet on it....and Voila' Pam 161....

So, the Panerai line easily expands to "something for everyone"....
